Classification of bearings.

The classification of bearings can be carried out from multiple angles, mainly including the shape of the rolling element, the number of columns of the rolling element, whether it can be automatically aligning and the size.

1. Classify by the shape of the rolling element

Bearings can be divided into two categories: ball bearings and roller bearings. Ball bearing roller and ring raceway for point contact, low load capacity, poor impact resistance, but small friction resistance, high limit speed, low price. The rolling body of the roller bearing is in line contact with the raceway of the ring, which has high load capacity and impact resistance, but the friction resistance is large and the price is relatively high.

2. Classify by the number of columns of rolling elements

Bearings can also be divided into single row bearings, double row bearings and multi-row bearings. Single-row bearings have one row of rolling elements, double-row bearings have two rows of rolling elements, and multi-row bearings have more rolling elements.

3. Classify by whether automatic aligning is possible

According to whether the bearing can be automatically aligning when working, it can be divided into rigid bearings and aligning bearings. The raceway of the aligning bearing is spherical, which can adapt to the angular deviation and angular motion between the axis lines of the two raceways, while the rigid bearing cannot.

4. Sort by size

The size classification of bearings includes micro bearings, small bearings, small and medium bearings, medium and large bearings, large bearings and extra-large bearings. This classification is carried out according to the outer diameter size of the bearing.
